My wrist is small at 6.4 inches and I own a regular Black Bay (which is 41mm) and a Black Bay 36. In my opinion, the Black Bay 36 will suit a wrist size of up to 7.0-inches. Unless you have an 8 inch wrist or something, 36 will fit just fine. As seen from the pics above of the BB36 on 7 inch wrist, looks great. A lot has to do with the shape of your wrist.

To the OP: my wrist is 7 1/2-7 3/4's - I feel the Bay is a good size for me, but with a 6 inch wrist I feel it would overwhelm your wrist - Jason's suggestion of a smaller Tudor Sub was a good one. Initially I thought a 54 would be a better fit on my ~6 inch wrist—but when I tried them on, I actually found they did not wear all that differently, due to similar lug lengths. The Black Bay 36 with the black dial is a wonderful watch, do not get me wrong. But out of these two, I would always pick the Rolex Explorer. Simply because I love the Explorer’s dial with its iconic 3-6-9 numerals. If I were going to buy a field watch in the price category of the Tudor BB36, I would probably opt for the Vertex M100 instead.IMO it looks a tiny bit big on you, but what can you do? It’s a classic dive watch size, and I doubt people had bigger wrists in the past. A BB36 would probably fit you a bit better, but keep in mind that the dial is about the same size, so it’s sort of the same size (a 36 mm Explorer or Datejust wears about as big as a 41 mm submariner for this reason).
